YWAM Santiago 
 
An hour's drive south of Puerto Plata is the Dominican Republic's second largest city, Santiago de los Trenta Caballeros, with a population of about 1,000,000. Santiago came to life when Columbus had a fort built on the banks of the Yaque del Norte River to protect gold mining being done in the area. In 1504 Spanish farmers settled in this fertile center of the Cibao Valley and began farming tobacco. Today the area is still the most important to the Dominican Republic agriculturally - particularly for livestock, tobacco, coffee, and fruit farming.

The local churches have plenty of young people who are being called to the nations, but don't know what to do with their call. Isn't a missionary someone who COMES to us?  Though the local church doesn't have a long history of sending out missionaries, it's beginning to happen. We are here to equip, moblilize and train a new wave of Latin missionaries going to the Unreach of the World.  To know God and make Him known is our Passion.

Take a YEAR OF MISSIONS with a focus on Youth and the Arts: We'll have our first Discipleship Training School (DTS) beginning March 15, 2009  until August 29, 2009 here in YWAM, Santiago.  Come join us for 6 months of Knowing God and Making Him Known. After this you would have the option to continue with the SOPA - School of Performing Arts with YWAM, Santo Domingo in which you learn how to use the arts (dance, theatre) in missions.

JuCUM Santiago 
 
A una hora de distancia de Puerto Plata, está la segunda ciudad más grande de la Republica Dominicana, Santiago, con una población de alrededor de 1,000,000. Santiago surgió cuando Colón construyó una fortaleza a las orillas del Río Yaque del Norte para proteger la mineria de oro que estaba siendo llevada acabo en aquella zona. En el año 1504 los granjeros Españoles se establecieron en estas tierras fertiles del Valle del Cibao y comenzaron a cultivar tabaco. Hoy día esta area todavia la más importante en la agricultura Dominicana - particularmente por el ganado, tabaco, café y el cultivo de varios frutos.

Las iglesias locales tienen muchos jóvenes que han sido llamados a las naciones, pero no saben que hacer con su llamado. ¿No es acaso un misionero aquel que VIENE a nosotros?Aunque la iglesia local no tiene una historia muy larga del envio de misioneros, está comenzando a ocurrir. Estamos aque para equipar, mobilizar y entrenar la nueva ola de misioneros latinos que van hacia el mundo Inalcanzado.   Nuestra passión es el conocer a Dios y darlo a Conocer.

Toma un AÑO DE MISIONES enfocado en Jovenes y Las Artes:  Tendremos nuestra primera EDE (Escuela de Discipulado y Entrenamiento) el 15 de Marzo, 2009 hasta el 29 de Agosto, 2009 aqui en JuCUM Santiago.  Ven para Conocer a Dios y Darlo a Conocer.  Despues tendria la opcion de seguir con un curso Escuela de Las Artes en JuCUM Santo Domingo en que usted sigue estudiando  como usar las artes (baile, teatro, etc) en las misiones.
